Introduce yourself. Answer: Why do you have a passion for photography and what is your favorite part of photographing? (Notice in this photo how the photographer began editing to remove the vehicle in the background? Always finish up your edits and make the photo as strong as possible so that the viewer eye goes directly to the focal point and not the mistake!)
My name is Chase Durrance. I'm a graphic design and studio art double major. In the past, the only interest I had in photography had to do with the work I'd done in my high school yearbook. I submitted a photographic portfolio for a couple of art school applications, but I haven't done much with it since. I'm more interested in photo editing than the photography itself--specifically, portrait retouching.

Hello! My name is Katelyn Daugherty and I'm a Graphic Design and English major. I love photography because I like the fact that photographs last forever even when the people or things in them change. My favorite part of photographing is the post processing that is involved.

My name is Ashlee Lauren Kent, and I have been at Kentucky Wesleyan for four years now. I originally was an Art Education major, but later realized my passion was not paper work. I find photography a passion of mine because i love catching moments in time we will never be able to get back. There are so many beautiful things and places that some people may never get the chance to see. When given the opportunity to share my experiences, I take it. My favorite part of photography is the sharing aspect. I have traveled to many places, and I have taken it upon myself to bring home the best photos so i can share them with my family and friends.

My names Brad Sadler and I am a senior here at Kentucky Wesleyan. I am from Madisonville Ky and I am a Criminal Justice major. I like photography because it allows us to capture moments in time which come with our memories of those moments. I look forward to learning a little about photography art and how to use photoshop as well as the mac operating system. I would just like to try something new even though I may not be that artistic.

Hello! My name is Wyatt Foust and I am a senior Bio major. I am an assistant coach for the women's basketball team and I thought this course sounded like fun. I'm not big into photography but I like taking funny photos of my friends so that counts. Should be fun I suppose.

My name is Justin Jones. I am a senior criminal justice major from Madisonville, KY. Honestly I don't really have a passion for photography. I thought it would be an interesting class to take. My favorite part would have to be capturing moments that you can always have.

DeleteMy name is Shelby Timm. I'm a junior zoology major from Mt.Vernon, IL. I have always loved photography and recently purchased a new camera that I want to start putting to good use. I think that I will be able to use photography in my profession and want to learn more about it. My favorite pictures are related to nature and biology, and I love having pictures from places I have traveled.

DeleteMy name is Kait Taylor. I am a freshman here at KWC, and I am a Theatre Major. Why I have a passion for photography is an easy answer. Growing up my mother was constantly taking pictures for every little thing. Sure we hated it when we were younger, but after a while, the picture thing kind of grew on me. I got my first point and shoot camera in 8th grade for a class trip to Canada. After that trip, I was taking pictures of everything. By the time I got to my junior year of high school, I was able to take the new Digital Photography course. I learned the basics of photography, and greatly improved my picture taking skills. My senior year of high school was where the passion started to step in. With every picture we took, we were required to use one of the Mac’s and do some type of editing with Photoshop. With every new project, I was eager to finish so I could get another project for another challenge. What is my favorite part of photography? I am able to change the way someone sees things. I can express myself and show someone what I see. It gives me a chance to show someone a glimpse of what the world looks like through my eyes.

DeleteMy name is Logan, I'm a Junior at KWC and am an Art Major. I absolutely love Photography as I was raised around it. I'd have to say the most rewarding thing about photography is when you capture a moment that just draws so much emotion from it's contents, really bringing the viewer in and just making them go, "Wow."
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kellee Counts. I'm a Graphic Design and Communications double major, and a Sophomore. I've always had an interest in photography, even as a kid. When they say a picture is worth a thousand words, they mean it. Photographs are both a way to express yourself as a person, but also a way to keep and hold memories for years to come. Whether it is a picture you took yourself with tons of awards, or a picture your child took with a point 'n click that is out of focus and blurry, it can all be an inspiration and can help to bring back memories.
