What is the most frustrating part of mapping a site? Post a link to a website you feel has great navigation planned. How would you describe this map? What can enhance it for the client or does it need to be?

  1. Deciding what to link where and exactly which pages to have is the most frustrating part of mapping for me. I feel like www.ppa.com has good navigation. This site map is easy to understand and follow, but I feel like thumbnails may enhance it.

  2. With mapping a site it is frustrating when you need to figure out the best way to configure which links are best on which pages. http://nifflas.ni2.se/?page=Knytt+Stories is a site that is simple but effective, with links on the right so that you will know where to go and where you are going. The mapping above seems pretty straight forward, but for a client some good thumbnails will be a useful visual tool to express intentions.

  3. Knowing what needed to be associated with each other was a bit of a pain at times. Apple's website has a great site map, everything is neat and organized. http://www.apple.com/sitemap/

  4. I didn't really have any issues with mapping out my website, but the part that might be most difficult for some would be connecting each page without getting lost in more pages. http://www.bodyrock.tv/ has a very easy site to navigate and everything is pretty easy to find under each section.

  5. I find mapping to be very easy! I like to think of myself as the client or a customer, and then build. If i can imagine myself as a client I can build the most accessible website. I love to browse photography websites to get ideas. some are very clean-cut and in order, and others are not the best. The link below takes you to my favorite page I have found so far.

The most frustrating part would have to be that the linking doesn't always work like you wanted it to, or decided what pages should link to/from where.
